Race 6 – And There You Go
Jockey – Ben Price
1400m – Barrier 7
Improving two-year-old And There You Go earns a crack at Black Type when she heads to Morphettville this afternoon. The daughter of Hellbent was solid from the back on debut at Donald before rolling forward and boxing on soundly at this track three weeks ago. Jockey Ben Price sticks on and can find cover in the early parts, looking for a cart into the race at the right time to challenge late in the piece.
The speed will be on from the get-go here, with Tweeter and Shivouac to roll across from their outside draws, while expect Neveu and Spain to punch through from nearer the rail to ensure a genuine gallop early on. Brevitas was beaten just half-a-length in the Oaklands Plate behind Pretty ay last start and will appreciate the predicted solid tempo of this race. She’ll drift back and be working into the race on the home bend; will prove hard to hold out late. Shivouac went forward and did as he pleased when winning easily on the main track here on debut. There’s more competition for the lead today, but if he can control things into the bend he’ll take some catching. Each way claims. So too Put To The Sword, who comes through a strong race at Flemington where he placed on debut, and Tweeter, who handled the heavy conditions at Murray Bridge when runner-up a fortnight ago.
And There You Go comes here fitter for two career runs and will appreciate a quieter ride off a predicted hot speed. If she can blend into the race at the right time, she’ll have something to offer late. Each way claims.
Currently, And There You Go is a $26 chance in the market.
