Pakenham Synthetic
Race 7 – Baltic Blizzard
Jockey – Luke Nolen
1400m – Barrier 2
Talented filly Baltic Blizzard gets back on firmer footing when she heads to Pakenham Synthetic this afternoon. The three-year-old daughter of Hanseatic bolted in to win her maiden first-up on a good surface at Ballarat, before not appreciating wet conditions at her past couple and suited back on top of the ground today. Jockey Lue Nolen leaves from an inside gate and can find cover from the outset, looking to peel to the outside and run on in the home straight.
Speed will be on from the outset with Quebeck, Shooter Mcgavin and Bella Pietra to go fast in search of the lead, while expect Paramount Plus and Nostro Roccia to be right on their heels approaching the bend. Shooter Mcgavin was runner-up behind subsequent Mildura winner Male Model two back before perhaps having excuses when plain last time out. He’ll bowl along on speed and can bounce back here. Each way claims. So too Swift Circle, who will get back and appreciate the fast tempo, and Cresta Crystal, who returns from metropolitan company.
Baltic Blizzard will need luck to get out and rolling at the right time but does look suited by a predicted genuine tempo up front. If Nolen can find a clear passage in the home straight, this filly will prove hard to hold out late. Strong claims.
Currently, Baltic Blizzard is a $3.70 chance in the market.
