SHAMUS AWARD X DISCREPANCY (F)

By a stallion completely ill-suited to having ‘sales types’, out of a mare from a family notorious for producing small, backward foals, this filly is one out of the box. While not huge, she’s a lovely, medium sized filly with decent strength, depth and length. On top of this she moves well and has a great deal of presence about her. She’s got a lot of Savabeel (dam sire) about her and seemingly that’s put a touch of quality into the mating.

While not getting sales, or 2yo types for that matter, Shamus Award has been a real Victorian success story producing G1 winners Duais, Incentivise, Mr Quickie, Quintessa, El Patroness and Media Award. Aside from those that have won at the highest level, each season we see a promising stream of ‘classic type’ 3yo’s emerging from obscurity with most Derby’s and Oaks’ featuring multiple runners by Shamus Award. Generally you need to be patient with them, but just as we hope with this filly, good things come to those who wait.
