Three-year-old galloper Invinciboo makes his stable debut on the Synthetic at Ballarat this afternoon. The gelded son of Sooboog has been okay in a pair of recent jumpouts, and worked well last week with blinkers added in preparation for today’s race. Jockey Mitch Aitken leaves from barrier three and can stride forward in the early parts, able to find the top and lead the field into the home straight.
Scratchings leave us with a field of seven and little early speed to speak of besides Invinciboo. Coronation Day and Kazza Joy can find trailing positions just off the speed, while Keeni will want to settle closer today from the inside alley. This galloper settled at the tail on debut at Seymour three weeks ago, picking up and hitting the line strongly to miss by half-a-length. Out to 1200-metres looks to suit and she only needs to be in touch on the bend to prove hard to hold out late. Hardest to beat. Bialiatski won his latest jumpout in nice fashion on this surface and draws for a soft run in gate two. No surprise to see him show-up on debut, next best. Coronation Day looks the other hope in the race, though will likely improve over more ground later in her campaign.
Invinciboo keeps the headgear on for today’s race, able to find a forward position and have something to offer in the run home. He’s run well fresh previously, expecting a forward showing today.
Currently, Invinciboo is a $31 chance in the market.

Race 5 – Call Up King

1500m – Barrier 1
Last start Maiden winner Call Up King comes back slightly in trip to 1500-metres at Ballarat this afternoon. The gelded son of Toronado was a dominant winner on the Synthetic at Pakenham four weeks ago, a similar surface today should be to his liking as he jumps quickly to 64-grade. Jockey Mitch Aitken leaves from the inside alley and can punch forward from the outset, landing on or outside the speed throughout.
Delivering is the other runner likely to contest the lead early on, while expect Anointed Lad and Wash Ya Mouth Out to settle just behind the leaders on settling. Delivering led from start to finish to win strongly at this track and trip a fortnight ago in 58-grade. They’ll no doubt try similar tactics here and could prove hard to catch again. One of the main dangers. Wats Normal won two on the bounce before a pair of sound efforts up to this grade. Drawn to go back but can e making ground late, next best. Each way chances to Absolute Sunshine, who was runner-up to Delivering last start, and It’sbruce, who didn’t measure up to Saturday class in Adelaide last time out.
Call Up King will be suited out and rolling at the head of the field today and staying on a Synthetic surface looks ideal at this stage. He’ll turn for home with a kick left in the locker, each way claims.
