Warrnambool
Race 5 – Miss Ellaneous
Jockey – Mitch Aitken
1000m – Barrier 5
Promising two-year-old Miss Ellaneous makes her racetrack debut over 1000-metres at Warrnambool this afternoon. The daughter of Brazen Beau has just one jumpout to her name this preparation, a pleasing effort when finding the line first at Avoca and never allowed off the bridle. Jockey Mitch Aitken leaves from an ideal draw today and can find cover midfield or worse from the outset, looking to find the best ground to pick up and run on in the home straight.
They’ll go fast from the outset in this, with Romantic Miss and Wintery to roll across from the outside to look for the top early, while Miss Ole, Killiana and Mrs Iglesia can all boot through underneath to hold their positions approaching the bend. Killiana has won twice from three career starts, all honours at her latest when caught three wide throughout and too strong in the finish at Bendigo. She comfortably had the measure of Wintery on that occasion, and from a soft draw looks the one to beat today. Mrs Iglesia is the other winner in the field, getting the better of Romantic Miss at Cranbourne in the closing stages four weeks ago. She had the plumb sit there and Romantic Miss has jumped out sharply since. Doubt there’s much between them today, each way claims. So too Miss Ole, who has shown ability at the jumpouts, and Meisho, who was a beaten short-priced favourite in Stakes grade in Adelaide a fortnight back. Open affair.
Miss Ellaneous should receive a lovely trail from the get-go today, able to peel out and make ground in the home straight. She’ll need to begin cleanly to stay in touch behind an expected hot tempo, and if she’s close enough on straightening, she can make her presence felt late. Top three hope.
Currently, Miss Ellaneous is a $13 chance in the market.

Race 7 – Wuddzz
Jockey – Ben Allen
2350m – Barrier 14
Seven-year-old galloper Wuddzz is third-up from a spell when he heads to Warrnambool this afternoon. The gelded son of Complacent has been good at both outings this time in, not beaten far at Ballarat fresh before belting home from a mile back in Sydney to finish runner-up four weeks ago. Jockey Ben Allen leaves from a wide gate and will be forced back in the early parts, looking to get rolling down the back and carry momentum into the home straight.
A few will go forward early, with Dschingis Prestige and The True Believer to use low draws to hold their positions into the first bend, while expect The Nephew and Amizetta to roll across and find themselves on or just behind the speed on settling. Dschingis Prestige was solid at his first two runs this preparation before an ordinary effort at Bendigo last time out. He’ll appreciate the sting out of the ground today and no surprise to see him bounce back on his hone track. One of the main chances. Lake’s Folly got back and made good ground in a leader-dominated affair at Oakbank last start. He ran the second-fastest closing 400/200 splits on that occasion, look for him to be charging late. Each way claims. So too Amizetta, who is racing in great fashion this campaign, and Early Warning, who draws to get every chance. Doesn’t end there.
Wuddzz is in terrific order and a similar effort to last start sees him right in this. He’ll find himself a long way back heading out of the first bend, but if he can get going at the right time with some sort of trail, he’ll take holding out late. Strong each way claims.
Currently, Wuddzz is a $5 chance in the market.
