Race 2 – Miss Ellaneous
Jockey – Harry Coffey
1000m – Barrier 4
Three-year-old filly Miss Ellaneous returns to the races this evening, first-up since finishing midfield at Kyneton in December. The daughter of Brazen Beau kept ticking over with a stint on the water walker after that run, and was held together in a recent trial in preparation for tonight’s run. Jockey Harry Coffey leaves from an ideal draw and can let his filly find her feet early, likely finding cover midfield before looking to run on in the home straight.
Speed will be on from the outset here with Cabaret Queen to cross from the extreme outside, while expect Beau Strada, Immortal Truth and Bel Lupa to all be thereabouts turning for home. Cabaret Queen was runner-up on debut behind a smart one at Mornington in September before immediately spelled, returning with pair of sound jumpouts this time in. She may be forced to work from the outside gate but from the chute start that’s not always a disadvantage. Hardest to beat. A host of runners with each way claims, including Immortal Truth, who is first-up on the ack of two jumpout wins, and Bel Lupa, who was runner-up in two of three career starts and resumes here. Debutant Foxsky looks to have some ability.
Miss Ellaneous will appreciate the solid tempo at 1000-metres tonight, ale to find cover before finding room to run on late. If she can settle in the run, she could have the last crack at them. Strong each way claims.
Currently, Miss Ellaneous is a $6 chance in the market.
