Bendigo
Race 5 – Miss Ellaneous
Jockey – Harry Coffey
1300m – Barrier 9
Three-year-old filly Miss Ellaneous will be hoping for a change of luck when she heads to Bendigo this afternoon. The daughter of Brazen Beau has hit the line strongly at her past couple, shuffled back when impeded at Echuca two back before forced wide and set a task at Swan Hill last time out. Jockey Harry Coffey leaves from a middle draw today and can roll forward in the early parts, looking to land outside or just behind the speed heading into the home bend.
Speed is solid enough with Princess Mess, Lantana and Marine Empress to drive forward in search of the lead, while expect Symphonite and Raven’s Bay to hold prominent positions on settling. A few with claims. Princess Mess strung a pair of wins together to begin her preparation before a solid effort in stronger company last start. She’ll go forward and be in this for a long way. Hi Val didn’t do much first-up but did improve second-up last preparation. Went on to win her maiden third-up, with Concorde Connie runner-up. Each way claims. So too Marine Empress, who resumes on the back of a recent jumpout win, and Symphonite, who was strong through the line in lesser company at this track twelve days ago. Pinot For Mike next best.
Miss Ellaneous is racing in terrific fashion and only needs even luck to feature in the finish today. She can be forward in the run and have something to offer in the home straight. Strong each way claims.
Currently, Miss Ellaneous is an $11 chance in the market.
Bendigo
Race 7 – Aurora Rise
Jockey – Harry Coffey
2400m – Barrier 7
Consistent filly Aurora Rise returns to the races at Bendigo this afternoon, three weeks since a solid effort over this distance at Swan Hill. The three-year-old daughter of The Autumn Sun was beaten less than half-a-length on that occasion, the winner going on to win at Flemington in much stronger grade last Saturday. Jockey Harry Coffey leaves from a middle draw today and can find a lovely trail mifield behind the speed, looking to work into the race on the home bend before dropping on them late.
Speed comes from Reel Latino, Flashlight and Prince Pinot drawn right across the track, while expect Three Reel Roses and Autumn Diamonds to settle just behind the leaders heading into the back straight. Flashlight is the main danger in this, coming here on the back of a runner-up effort over 2200-metres in similar grade at Donald a fortnight ago. He boasts a strong record up to this distance (5:2-1-1) and draws for every possible up on-speed. Hardest to beat. The race drops away from here, conceding each way chances Brilliantezza, who has been sound in three career starts, and stablemate Three Reel Roses, who will appreciate getting back to this distance today.
Aurora Rise has been up for a long time but is holding condition and continues to race well. She wasn’t far of a subsequent city winner last time out and only needs to run up to that to go very close here. Strong claims.
Currently, Aurora Rise is a $3.40 chance in the market.

Race 7 – Three Reel Roses
Jockey – Damian Thornton
2400m – Barrier 4
Four-year-old mare Three Reel Roses gets back out to 2400-metres when she returns to the races at Bendigo this afternoon. The daughter of Highland Reel has been solid at her past couple, not far away at Echuca before making good late ground from an impossible position at Donald last time out. Jockey Damian Thornton rides from an ideal draw and can roll forward from the outset, looking to land on or just behind the speed heading into the back straight.
Speed comes from Reel Latino, Flashlight and Prince Pinot drawn right across the track, while expect Autumn Diamonds to settle just behind the leaders heading into the back straight. Stablemate Aurora Rise was beaten less than half-a-length by subsequent city winner Vegas Jack at Swan Hill three weeks ago and draws for a lovely trail just off-speed. She’s racing well without winning but only needs to hold her form to go close here. Hardest to beat. Flashlight comes here on the back of a runner-up effort over 2200-metres in similar grade at Donald a fortnight ago. He boasts a strong record up to this distance (5:2-1-1) and draws for every possible up on-speed. Strong claims. The race drops away from here, concede an each way chance to Brilliantezza, who has been sound in three career starts and will appreciate the rise in trip today.
Three Reel Roses is suited by the conditions today and will relish the rise to 2400-metres here. She should find the right position in the run and have something to offer turning for home. Each way claims.
Currently, Three Reel Roses is a $15 chance in the market.
