Road To Rock mare Moscow Red lines up for start number ninety-five when she returns to Seymour this afternoon. The twelve-year-old galloper has raced well in three starts at the track previously, winning there last year, and gets heavy ground to suit today. Apprentice Tom Spillane leaves from an inside gate and can let his mare settle where comfortable in the run, likely in the second half of the field before working into the race on the home bend.
Vegas on Fire is the likely leader from towards the outside, while expect Too Big, Barrington Manor and First Chorus to all be thereabouts on settling. Barrington Manor comes back in grade for this having never featured at Cranbourne last start and will be suited with a more positive ride today. He won his only start at Seymour and expect him to go close today. Too Big gets blinkers for the first time and has been around the mark in similar company this campaign. Next best. Each way chances to First Chorus, who’s up in trip following her Maiden win here a fortnight ago, and Vegas On Fire, who should get every chance from the front.
Moscow Red is five weeks between runs today and gets in well after the 4kg apprentice claim. She should receive a soft run throughout and have plenty to offer late in suitable conditions. Strong claims.
