In-form galloper Em Sixty earns his shot at town today, taking on three-year-old company at Flemington over 1700-metres. The gelded son of Smart Missile has raced in terrific fashion all campaign, stringing two wins together on his way to Headquarters with some strong formlines behind him. Jockey John Allen leaves from the inside alley and can look to settle leaders’ back in the early parts, finding clear air in the home straight before finishing his race strongly.
Speed comes from towards the outside with Zorro’s Flight and Aloysius to roll across in search of the top, while expect Autumnheat and All Business to be thereabouts on settling. Zorro’s Flight wasn’t far away least start after a tardy getaway and will benefit from taking closer order here. He should get every chance from up on the speed and could take catching late. One of the main dangers. All Business is racing well, competitive around some nice types of late. No surprise to see her somewhere in the finish. Each way claims to Dubai Watch and Aloysius, though both are up significantly in grade.
Em Sixty was dominant in victory last start an only needs to run up to that performance to be a major threat today. He’ll need luck at the right time to get out and rolling, but if the luck comes, he’ll be mighty hard to hold out. Strong hattrick claims.

Race 2 – Anecdotal

Speedy galloper Anecdotal heads to Morphettville Parks for the first time this afternoon. The gelded son of Magnus has been sound at his past three runs, placing on each occasion and looks suited to the inner circuit in Adelaide today. Jockey Justin Potter leaves from towards the outside and can let his galloper roll in the early parts, looking to cross and find the lead with something to offer late in the piece.
Speed is drawn inside Anecdotal with Tiddy Widdy to go fast from the outset, while expect Lottie Jane and Aramoso to punch through from nearer the inside. Very open affair. Thunder Shoc will e back in the field and running on, resuming from a spell this afternoon. She was good in two starts last campaign, a length off Dyer in stronger grade before heading to the paddock. That form looks good for this, she’ll be the one charging late. Hardest to beat. Tiddy Widdy comes here third-up having shown improvement last start. She should get every chance from up on speed, each way claims. So too debutants Anahorish and Hometown Gal, who have shown something at the Trials. Others not hopeless.
Anecdotal will find conditions to suit on the tight metropolitan track, where it’s usually advantageous to be up on speed. If he’s not pressured too much in the early stages, he can have a kick left late and give this a shake. Strong claims.

Mildura
Race 1 – Star Of Beirut

Three-year-old galloper Star Of Beirut makes his racetrack debut at Mildura this afternoon. The gelded son of Zoustar has trialled once this preparation leading in, a sound effort at Warracknabeal when strong through the line over 1000-metres. Jockey Neil Farley leave from gate five and can settle where comfortable, looking to run on and attack the line late in the piece.
Speed is drawn towards the inside with August Bonus and Harbour City to punch forward from the outset, while no surprise to see Thaimor come across and find a prominent position early. This galloper was sound on debut in January, contesting a solid form race at Horsham before finding the paddock. Jumpouts have been sound since returning and he shapes as the one to beat in a small field. Each way chances to the rest here – perhaps Harbour City the pick of them.
Star Of Beirut finds a suitable race to debut today, likely to receive a soft trail somewhere behind the speed. He has the ability to take care of these and his trial suggests a forward showing is on the cards. Top three claims.

Race 7 – Northern Barrage

Improving galloper Northern Barrage is out in trip and back in grade when he heads to Mildura this afternoon. The gelded son of Churchill has been sound in two runs this campaign, suited by the rise to 1900-metres and back to 0-58 company. Jockey Will Gordon leaves from towards the outside and can drift back in the early parts, looking to work into the race approaching the home bend and find the line late.
Speed looks genuine with Timeonlees and Punchin to cross from their wide draws, while expect Prince Pinot and Wild Vitality to boot through from nearer the rail and hold forward positions on settling. Timeonlees wasn’t far away in stronger grade last start and looks close to a win after some consistent racing. The wide gate is an issue and just one win from fifteen starts doesn’t read well, but if he runs up to last time he’ll take beating. The main danger. Each way chances to Prince Pinot, who draws for the right on-speed run, and Celtic Knot, who improved second-up last time out.
Northern Barrage contends with a wide barrier today and will be hoping for a truly-run race from the outset. He gets a bit in his favour today but will need luck to blend in at the right time. Each way claims.
