Race 5 – Aurora Rise
Jockey – Cian MacRedmond
2238m – Barrier 9
Three-year-old filly Aurora Rise looks to bounce back today following a forgetful outing at Donald ten days ago. The daughter of The Autumn Sun couldn’t get going at the right time on that occasion, with tiring runners falling back in her lap and all hope lost on the home bend. Jockey Cian MacRedmond leaves from the outside gate in a field of ten and can let his filly stride in the early parts, using the long run to the bend to work across and find a position outside or just behind the speed on settling.
Speed comes from Warchime drawn toward the inside, while Future Frankie will likely roll forward from gate nine and give Aurora Rise something to track from the outset. Morthan Efficient cornered widest at Donald last start and was good to the line when third behind Silvasista, perhaps unlucky not to have finished closer. He can sit handier to the speed from a soft draw and prove hard to hold out late. Strong claims. Luckett is a last start runner-up behind Quite The Lass, who has run well twice in stronger grade since. He’s another that draws for every possible and could have the last crack. Each way claims to Which Floor and Warchime.
Aurora Rise keeps the blinkers on today and can improve on her luckless last start effort. She should find a forward position in the run and if she can get going at the right time, could give this a shake. Each way claims.
Currently, Aurora Rise is a $5 chance in the market.
